Suspension, evanescence, abstraction: these are the first sensations the sculptures of Isabel Alonso Vega evoke. The artist will present her works in Italy for the first time during her next solo show, Senza Fuoco, opening on January 19th at White Noise Gallery, Rome.

Valentýna Janů finds inspiration outside the visual arts: mainly in literature, pop music and, especially, in a social and cultural environment of daily life. While oscillating between physical objects and textual narratives, a situation becomes a key word for Janů’s work; performative act dominates her interdisciplinary vocabulary. Words turn sculptural while texts become compositions within the formal assemblage of speech and writing.

viennacontemporary is pleased to announce Johanna Chromik as the new Artistic Director. Johanna Chromik has in-depth experience in the contemporary art gallery landscape, previously holding positions as the director at König Galerie and KOW, both in Berlin.

The exhibition brings together photographs by Andreas Mühe and paintings by Sebastian Nebe. Both Mühe and Nebe make art that grapples with their roots and the places and contexts in which they grew up. At a time of political uncertainty, the demise of utopian visions, and an increasingly poisonous social climate, their works reflect on the collective and individual longings and anxieties of today.
